- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆I have never encountered such a bad experience with the United States Post Office service in my life! I am in my mid-60's and grew up in a rural area near Jacksonville as well as 22 years in Scott County, and also spent 2 years near Springfield. We now live in S. Jacksonville, and have lived here for almost 3 years. The service has deteriorated drastically during the past 6 months. We don't receive mail now, generally, until after dark. It has even been as late as 8:00 p.m. And as far as weather? Where has the motto gone about mail being delivered no matter how severe the weather is? Today will mark the 4th day (if it isn't delivered, an we are in doubt that it will!) we have not received any mail. Normally, we always get something. On rare occasions, before this past year, it may be 2 days. Could anyone explain to me what the problem is? We are extremely dissatisfied!By Bill Fairfield, June 24, 2017
